Approximate batting needs for:
A 12-inch toy ~100g
An 18-inch Waldorf doll ~250g
A 20-inch x15-inch felted wallhanging ~200g
Many felters we know love how easily it felts with very little effort. Wool batting also makes an excellent core material when needle felting, too. Instead of using Corriedale or Merino all the way through, make a tight ball or cover a skeleton with batting first. Then just cover with a matching or darker colour.
Canadian wool is noticebly different as our sheep live in extreme temperatures and so their wool is loftier, fluffier, bulkier and often a better quality that other wools.
