Writing Pysanky, or Ukranian Easter eggs, is a traditional craft from the Ukraine. It can be done anytime of year and is so fun and works for most ages - as long as they can sit still for a few minutes and be trusted around candles.

Start a new tradition at Easter or just try out this magical craft anytime of year to study art or the Ukraine or beautiful things. It's as complicated or easy as you want it to be. And the beeswax smells sooooo good.

Draw a design on an egg, traditional or otherwise, trace it with beeswax, dip it in dye, draw more with beeswax, dip it in another dye and continue until your creativity is satisfied. Then heat the egg, wipe the beeswax and be dazzled when all the layers are revealed.
